POSTVILLE – Karen Heins left this earthly realm on April 12, 2022, after a long battle with cancer. She was 74 years old. There was no quit in Karen. Just because she is no longer here, doesn’t mean she lost her fight. No matter how tough times became, she was always determined. When anyone else would have broken, Karen stayed strong. Though her health was declining, few people knew the extent to which she struggled. Her joy for life and unrelenting spirit kept her pushing through the pain. Through her, we know what determination and strength truly look like.

Leslie Leo Heckman, age 84, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2022, in Springdale, Arkansas surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 14, 1938, in Waukon, Iowa to the late Arbie and Inez (Steirt) Heckman. He is preceded in death by his son, Nicky Heckman, and nine siblings.

Lorraine Janice Harrington, 82, of Postville, Iowa passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2022 at Good Samaritan Society in Waukon, Iowa. Lorraine was born February 16, 1940 to Selmer and Alice (Barness) Reinertson in Winneshiek County, Iowa. She attended school at Dover #6 in Fayette County, Iowa and Hillcrest Lutheran Academy in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, graduating in 1957.

Marvel Maxine Morch, 99, of Decorah, Iowa formerly of Postville, Iowa passed away Thursday, March 31, 2022 at Wellington Place in Decorah, Iowa. Maxine was born April 24, 1922 to Arno and Bernadine (Brandtman) Doerring on the farm South of Luana, Iowa. She was baptized on June 18, 1922 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Luana and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville, Iowa. Maxine went to school at Luana Consolidated School through the eighth grade. She helped her parents on their farm until she met and married Leo H. Morch on December 8, 1944 at St.

Bruce Edward Anderson, 69, of Postville, Iowa passed away Friday, March 25, 2022 at his home in Postville after a two month battle with cancer. Bruce Edward was born April 25, 1952 in Postville, Iowa to Kenneth and Edna (Loftsgard) Anderson. He was baptized and confirmed at Marion Lutheran Church in Gunder, Iowa.

Donald Gene Reierson Sr., 85, of Postville, Iowa died Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at his home in Postville, Iowa. Donald Gene was born June 15, 1936 to Ole and Marie (Martie) Reierson in Elgin, Iowa.

He graduated from Elgin High School in 1954. Don joined the United States National Guard with class 28 in Fort Worth, Texas. He also went to Army Service School in Fort Hood, Texas. He served six years.

Robert L. Enyart

Robert L. Enyart, 93 died peacefully at the Good Samaritan Home in Postville, IA on Friday, March 18th, 2022. He chose to be cremated. There will be a private family service at a later date.

He was born on February 12th 1929 to Hollis and Velma Enyart. He graduated from Postville High School in 1947.

On February 28, 2022 Bill was called home by our Heavenly Father. He was born in Waukon, Iowa on October 15, 1932 to Vern and Bernice Downing. He was one of six children. He had four brothers, Dean who resides in Postville, Iowa. Robert, Neale and Gary who preceded him in death. One sister, the apple of their eyes, Darlene Kadera also preceded him in death.
