OELWEIN — Daryl Ray Potter, 82, of Oelwein passed away Wednesday September 1, 2021. Visitation will be Tuesday September 7, 2021 from 10:00 AM–1:00 PM at the Geilenfeld-Buehner Funeral Home in Oelwein. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm with Deacon Jim Patera officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery at Oelwein. A memorial fund has been established. For condolences, please visit www.geilenfeldfh.com.

Diane Elinor (Robertson) Wirkler, 74, formerly of Luana died Sunday, August 29, 2021 at the Elkader Care Center after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Diane was born October 30, 1946 to Cecil and Dorothy (Nymeyer) Robertson in Iowa Falls and grew up on a farm near Williams. She graduated from Northeast Hamilton High School in Blairsburg in 1964. She then received her bachelor’s and master’s degree in music education from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. Diane taught in the Gladbrook and Postville Community Schools until retiring in 2010.

G. Wyatt Schultz, 68 of Cedar Rapids, Iowa died Saturday, August 21, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Grant Wyatt was born June 6, 1953 to Grant Lee and Patricia Addie (Herwig) Schultz in Postville, Iowa. Wyatt was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville. He graduated from Postville High School and attended NIACC in Mason City, Iowa.

Helen Lucylle (Nevin) Triem

Helen Lucylle (Nevin) Triem passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at the Clarion Wellness and Rehabilitation Center in Clarion, Iowa. Burial in Clermont, Iowa will be held at a later date.

Lucylle was born November 4, 1924 to Howard and Helen (Luke) Nevin in Escondido, CA. (The day she was born, Calvin Coolidge was elected our 30th President). Growing up on a fruit and vegetable ranch, she spent her early years working on the farm and participating in music and athletics at Escondido High School.

Mac Ellis Greentree, 77, of rural Postville, IA, lost his battle with cancer on Sunday, August 15, 2021, at home with his loved ones by his side. Memorial services will be held Sunday, August 22nd, at 1:00 PM at Salem United Church of Christ in rural Waukon, IA, with Pastor Sue Klimstra officiating, and burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM Saturday, August 21st, at the church. Martin-Grau Funeral Home in Waukon is handling arrangements.

Darlene Ruth Lange, 88, of Postville, Iowa died Friday, August 6, 2021 at her home with family by her side. Darlene was born on November 28, 1932 to Arnold W. and Ruth M. (Geno) Schutte in Postville, Iowa. She was baptized on June 11, 1933 and confirmed March 30, 1947. Darlene graduated from Postville High School in 1950.

James Dean Chamberlain

CEDAR RAPIDS – James Dean Chamberlain, 70, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died July 11, 2021 at his home due to a medical issue.

The son of Wayne and Marjorie Chamberlain, James was born August 25, 1950 and was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Luana. He grew up on the family farm north of Luana.

He graduated from MFL High School and the University of Iowa.

James will be remembered for his benevolent heart, his love of antiques and his sense of humor.

Gwen Carole Eilers

Gwen Carole Eilers, 79, of Luana, Iowa died Friday, July 23, 2021 at Northgate Care Center, Waukon, Iowa. Gwen was born May 3, 1942 in Palmer, Alaska to Carl and Edithbelle (Heller) Wilson. From Palmer, the family moved to Fairbanks, Alaska. In 1954, Gwen's parents, her and her two brothers, Rocky and Terry, moved to Chena Hot Springs, travelling through wilderness and over mountains. She and her brothers were homeschooled by Edithbelle for a time. Gwen went to high school in Fairbanks and graduated from there.
