State Individual Speech: Three Postville students garner Division 1 ratings

DELHI – Three Postville students were awarded Division 1 ratings Saturday at the State Individual Speech Contest at Maquoketa Valley High School.
Olivia Enyart received straight 1 ratings for both her acts while Brooklynn Martins had straight 1’s in her lone act and Kaedyn Heitland had an overall 1 in one of the two acts he qualified for State competition with.
Enyart received 1 ratings from all three judges for both her Acting performance of “Me,” a piece that she also wrote, and for her Solo Musical Theatre performance of “When You’re Good to Mama.” Martins received straight 1 ratings for her Storytelling performance of “No One Likes a Fart” while Heitland received 1 ratings from two of the three judges for his Public Address speech titled “Caleb Williams’ Heisman Trophy Speech.”
In addition, five Postville students had Division 2 ratings for their performances.
Acts that receive 1 ratings are eligible to be nominated for the All-State Festival. Those acts were announced after The Herald went to press Monday.
