Kregel is guest speaker at Veterans Day Program

Kent Kregel was the guest speaker at the Postville Veterans Day Program held on November 11 in the high school gymnasium.

Kent Kregel - Mr. Kregel was a 1977 graduate of Postville High School. He served from 1977-1980 in the active US Army as a truck driver in the 1/84th Field Artillery at Ft. Lewis, WA. He joined the US Army Reserve in B. CO. 389th Combat Heavy Engineers at Decorah, IA., in 1981. He also served in HSC (Headquarters Support Company) in Dubuque, IA, as well as A. CO. in Iowa City, IA. His last duty station was with the 416th Facility Engineer Command at Ft. McCoy, WI. Mr. Kregel retired in Oct 2009 at the rank of E8 Master Sergeant. He spent three years in active duty and 28 years in the Army Reserve. He went to Central America 8 different times for annual training. 3 times to Honduras, 2 times to Guatemala, 2 times to El Salvador and 1 time to Panama. He also went to Germany 3 times for annual training. Mr. Kregel deployed to OIF 1 (Operation Iraqi Freedom) from May 2003 - May 2004 as the First Sergeant of HSC 389th Engineers.
