Minikwu named Postville boys’ basketball MVP

POSTVILLE — Josiah Minikwu was named Most Valuable Player as the Postville High School boys’ basketball team hosted its year-end banquet.

Minikwu led the Pirates with 20.6 points 4.1 assists and 1.8 steals per game while ranking second on the team with 7.2 rebounds per game. 

Other varsity award winners included Mr. Hustle (Jacob White), Mr. Defense (Cedric Navarro) and Most Improved (Navarro). Minikwu was also recognized as the team’s top free throw shooter while Navarro was the top rebounder.

Junior varsity awards went to Zade Brock (MVP), Alan Ciriaco-Munoz (Mr. Hustle), Alfredo Ortiz-Bacon (Mr. Hustle and Mr. Defense), Collin Russel (Mr. Defense) and Elden Young (Most Improved).
