Minikwu earns first-team All-UIC honors

POSTVILLE — Postville senior Josiah Minikwu earned first-team all-Upper Iowa Conference honors as released by conference coaches Sunday.

He is joined on the team by honorable mention selections Xander Martinez and Cedric Navarro.

Minikwu started every game for the Pirates during their 2024-25 season, ranking third in the conference with 20.6 points per game. He also led the Pirates with 4.1 assists and 1.8 steals per game while ranking second on the team with 7.2 rebounds per game. Minikwu recorded a triple-double with 26 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists in the Pirates’ game against MFL MarMac Dec. 20 and scored 35 points in his final game as a Pirate, Feb. 17 against Anamosa. Minikwu finished his career as a member of Postville’s 1,000 career point club.

Martinez ranked second on the team with 10.3 points per game while pulling down 4.5 rebounds and dishing out 1.4 assists. Navarro averaged 5.9 points and led the team with 7.7 rebounds per contest. He also averaged 1.9 assists and 1.6 steals.

Teams are selected by conference coaches.
