Eleven events advance to State Individual Speech Contest

The Postville High School speech team qualified 11 event for the individual state speech contest during district competition Saturday in Independence.

Results are as follows: Jacob White- I rating in Prose, I rating in Solo Acting; Kaedyn Heitland- II rating in Solo Improvisation, I rating in After Dinner Speaking; Angie Sarazua- I rating in Original Oratory, I rating in Poetry; Selena Tzunux-Tzunux-I rating in Solo Musical Theatre, I rating in Storytelling; Olivia Enyart- I rating in Prose, I rating in Solo Musical Theatre; Brenda Gonzalez- I rating in After Dinner Speaking, II rating in Solo Acting; Isabelle White-II rating in Public Address, II rating in Prose.

The State Speech Contest will be held Saturday, March 15 at Starmont High School where they will participate with schools in the Northeast District. Friederich said, “As coaches we are very proud of all our students and the hard work they have put into perfecting their events.”
