Stacy Ann Meyer

BURBANK, California — Stacey Ann Meyer of Burbank, California and formerly of Postville passed away Nov. 8, 2024 in Burbank.

Since Stacey loved the ocean, some of her ashes will be sprinkled in the ocean before inurnment in the Postville Cemetery with a private family graveside service.

Stacey Ann Meyer was born Jan. 15, 1975 in Decorah to Byron and Eileen Meyer. She grew up on a farm just outside Postville and graduated from Postville High School, Class of 1993.

She attended the University of Northern Iowa. After college she started working for Marriott International. She moved into different roles within the company and transferred to several parts of the country. Stacey has lived in Iowa, Missouri, Tennessee, Florida, Texas and California. She was currently general manager of Residence Inn by Marriott Los Angeles Burbank Downtown. Stacey was with Marriott for 27 years and loved working with her hotel teams. She had the highest respect of her colleagues.

One of the things on Stacey’s bucket list was to learn how to surf. She knew she already loved kayaking and paddle boarding. She took one surfing lesson and was hooked. She joined a surfing group right away. They took trips over the border to Baja and then decided to go to New Zealand to surf. She took several vacations and enjoyed hiking and cycling. She even tried snorkeling and scuba diving.

She scratched another item off her bucket list in 2023, which was see game in every Major League Baseball ballpark. She went to all 30 (and even four more old parks). Stacey is survived by her mother Eileen Meyer, brother, Brad (Rachel) Meyer, nephew, Zane Meyer and niece Delaney Meyer.

Stacey was preceded in death by her father, Byron Meyer, and grandparents Virgil and Rosella Goettelman and Willard and Florence Meyer.
