Wilma Ruth Kugel

Wilma Ruth Kugel, 96 of Postville, Iowa passed away Monday, March 27, 2023 at Good Samaritan Society in Waukon, Iowa. Wilma was born June 7, 1926 to David and Emma (Marfilius) Kammerer in Froelich, Iowa. She was baptized on November 25, 1926 at the Evangelical Parsonage in Monona, Iowa by Pastor O. A. Hillman and confirmed March 17, 1940 at Pilgrim Evangelical in Monona, Iowa by Pastor Frederick R. Ludwig. Wilma graduated from Monona High school in 1944.

On October 12, 1945 Wilma was united in marriage with Donald Kugel at the Evangelical Church in Monona, Iowa. Wilma was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville, Iowa and unselfishly donated blood at the blood drives whenever she was called. Her greatest joy was her K-9 dog. Wilma enjoyed her sixteen years working as a cook at the Postville Hospital.

Surviving Wilma are her son, David (Medy) Kugel of Buckeye, Arizona; grandchildren, William (Jennifer) Kugel and Farrah (Richard) Watson great-grandchildren, Max Kugel, Leah Kugel, Nyah Watson and Marshall Watson.

Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Kugel on November 11, 2004; parents, David and Emma Kammerer; grandchild, William David Kugel Jr.;and her brothers, Justin (Dolores) Kammerer and Reuben Kammerer.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 10:30 am on Monday, April 3, 2023 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville, Iowa.

Funeral Service will be at 10:30 am on Monday, April 3, 2023 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville, Iowa with Rev. Lynn J. Noel as the officiant.

Burial will follow at the Postville Cemetery in Postville, Iowa.
