Patricia “Pat” Addie Schultz- Cline

Patricia “Pat” Addie Schultz- Cline, 93, of Elgin, Iowa passed away Thursday, January 19, 2023 at her home. She was born April 11, 1929 to Ray and Phyllis (Olesen) Herwig, south of Elgin, Iowa. Pat was baptized June 17, 1934 at Wadena Presbyterian Church. She graduated from Elgin High School in 1947. After graduation, Pat was employed as a Cashier at REC in Postville until she was married.

Pat was united in marriage with Grant Schultz on January 9, 1949 at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Together they farmed in the Postville area where they raised five sons. In 1961, Pat returned to work at Hygrade Food Products for 20 years. In 1981 she went to work at Interstate Power Company in Postville, Iowa. After the Postville office closed in 1987, Grant and Pat moved to Mason City where Pat continued working for Interstate Power Company until her retirement in 1994. Following retirement, Pat worked part time for several years. She also volunteered at Mercy Medical Center and KCMR, a Christian radio station in Mason City.

On July 2, 2005 Pat was united in marriage with Harry Cline at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Elgin, Iowa. Pat enjoyed traveling each winter to Florida, spending time with family and friends and attending their activities. Special times were spent together bowling, golfing and socializing with friends.

Surviving Pat are her husband, Harry Cline of Elgin, Iowa; three sons, Brad (Paulette) Schultz of Grimes, Iowa, Larry (Dianne) Schultz of Postville, Iowa and Rev. Daryl (Dolly) Schultz of Postville, Iowa; daughters-in-law, Kirsten Schultz (G.Wyatt) and Cindy Schultz (Stuart); stepsons, Jeff (LeAnn) Cline of Elgin, Iowa and Mike (Linda) Cline of Elgin, Iowa; stepdaughter, Stacey (Mick) Mack of Waverly, Iowa; fifteen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Pat was preceded in death by her first husband, Grant Schultz; parents, Ray Herwig and Phyllis Gehring; sons, G. Wyatt Schultz and Stuart Schultz; her siblings, Ray Herwig, Virginia Lammert, Marj Kohler, Shirley Deverell and Bob Gehring.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at St. Paul’s Methodist Church in Elgin, Iowa.

Funeral Service will be at 12:00 pm on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at St. Paul’s Methodist Church in Elgin, Iowa with Rev. Rick Burns and Rev. Daryl Schultz as the officiants.

Burial will follow at Postville Cemetery, Postville, Iowa.
