Keary Keehner
Keary Joe Keehner, 50, of Luana, Iowa died Saturday, February 27, 2021. Keary was born August 20, 1970 to Robert and Rebecca (Guyer) Keehner in Postville, Iowa. He graduated from M.F.L. High School and attended Kirkwood Community College, earning his degree as a Diesel Mechanic.
On July 3, 2003, Keary was united in marriage with Remy Kirkeberg on the Keehner home farm. Keary worked as a Heavy Machine Operator for Szabo Construction in Postville, Iowa. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, tractor pulls, going on drives, and spending time with family, friends, and his best boy Boone. Keary is probably best known for his skills behind a grill, mass feeding his neighbors, and his warm and welcoming smile.
Surviving Keary are his wife, Remy Keehner of Luana; parents, Robert and Rebecca Keehner of Luana; his siblings, Luther Keehner of Cedar Rapids, Chad (Erin) Keehner of Luana, and Kelby (Kalista) Keehner of Rochester, MN; parents-in-law, Rick and Jeanie Kirkeberg of Calmar and Marlene and Dale Koenig of Elkhart; sister-in-law, Stacy (Jeremy) Johnson of Roscoe, IL and Kelly (Jason) Thelen of Silverton, OR; and grandparent -in-law Inez Kirkeberg of Decorah. Keary was a beloved uncle to ten nieces and nephews and an honorary uncle to many.
Keary was preceded in death by George and Irene Keehner of Monona, Aubrey and Mabel Guyer of Clermont, and Ky Kirkeberg of Decorah.
A Public Visitation will be held from 3-8 pm on Friday, March 5, 2021 at Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Monona, Iowa.
Due to Covid-19, masks and social distancing are required while attending the visitation.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Old School Rec in Luana, MFL 1st Responders and Luana Fire Department.
Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Monona, Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements.
