Mary Patricia "Pat'' (Brickley) Finnegan

Mary Patricia "Pat'' (Brickley) Finnegan, 86, of West Union, Iowa, passed away on September 6, 2020, at Stoney Brook Village in West Union. Iowa. Pat was born on September 22, 1933, in Independence, Iowa, to Leo and Genevieve Brickley. A graduate of East Buchanan High School she went on to attend Mount Mercy College.

Her college roommate, Marianne Ironside (sister of Michael Finnegan), introduced her to the love of her life, Mike. On February 12, 1955, they were joined in marriage in Winthrop, Iowa. She moved with Mike to his family farm in northeast Iowa. Together they raised 6 children and lovingly enjoyed 12 grandchildren. A beloved wife and grandmother she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Pat was well known for her sweet demeanor, kind heart, and Irish heritage.

Pat worked at the Good Samaritan Home in West Union for several years. She was an active member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and Rosary Society and volunteered with hospice care.

She is survived by her sister Margaret Hogan of Independence, Iowa; a brother Tom (Teri) Brickley of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; sister-in-law CeAnn Brickley of Cascade, Iowa; sister-in-law Marianne, Ironside of Kenosha, Wisconsin; her children Faye Dubuque, Iowa, Dan (Yolanda) and their children Brian (Anchal) and John of Austin, Texas, Michael (Brooke) and their children Bailey and Abigail of Pewaukee, Wisconsin, Matt (Lisa) and their children Dane Harnack, Alexis and Emily of Savage, Minnesota, Joan (Blair) and their children Thomas, Olivia, and Grace of Chaska, Minnesota, and Patrick (Catherine) and their children Mia and Gus of Bloomington, Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by her parents Leo and Genevieve Brickley, her husband Michael Finnigan; a brother Leo Brickley, and a brother-in-law John C. Hogan: and her in-laws, Jack and Helen Finnegan.

There will be a Private Family Mass of Christian Burial. The public is welcome to gather for the burial at St. Peter Catholic Cemetery in Clermont, Iowa at 11:30 AM on Thursday, September 10, 2020. Due to Covid-19, we ask everyone to continue physical distancing and wear a mask if you plan on attending.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be mailed to Kerndt Brothers Bank Clermont, Iowa. Schutte-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Clermont, Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements.
