Ruth Ann Erbe

Ruth Ann Erbe, 87, of West Union, Iowa went peacefully to her Heavenly home to be reunited with her Mom and Dad on Monday, October 19. 2020.

Ruth Ann Erbe was born on January 5, 1933 to Arthur and Hertha (Gass) Erbe in Postville, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran Faith at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville. Ruth attended country school through the eighth grade.

Ruth stayed at home with her parents for most of early adulthood and then went to live at McKee Manor when her mother was no longer able to care for her at home. In May of 2010, she went to live at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in West Union.

Ruthie enjoyed participating in the many activities and social interactions that the nursing home provided. She loved babies and young children as well as cats and dogs and enjoyed interacting with them whenever possible. She also enjoyed participating in the musical activities. She became a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in West Union and enjoyed being in her Bible Study Circle as well as other activities the church provided.

Ruth went peacefully to her Heavenly home to be reunited with her Mom and Dad on October 19. 2020.

Ruth is survived by her cousin, Patricia Cowell, of Spencer, Iowa.

Ruthe was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Hertha; and several cousins.


Funeral Services will be held at a later date.



Burial will be held in the Postville Cemetery, Postville, Iowa.
