Postville swimming pool to open Friday

UPDATE MAY 23, 2024: Unfortunately the swimming pool will not be opening for the season tomorrow Friday, May 24 and will be closed through Monday, May 27 due to the cold temperatures and rain in the forecast. (The pool policy requires the outside temperature to be above 70 degrees when they open for the day) The Postville Pool will provide an update Tuesday morning.

POSTVILLE — The Postville swimming pool will open its summer season Friday at 1 p.m.

Regular operating hours will be Monday through Saturday from 1 to 6 p.m. Though the pool will be closed most Sundays, it plans to be open this Sunday (May 26) for Memorial Day weekend. There will also be adult swims on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5 to 6 p.m.

In a Facebook post, pool officials said there may be times this year when the pool is forced to close due to staffing issues.

Some lifeguards will be giving private swimming lessons in the mornings this year. Those interested should contact the pool to set up times.

Those bringing goggles to the pool are also reminded that glass goggles are not permitted.
