Patricia Lou Smith (Quam)

Patricia Lou Smith (Quam), 73, lovingly known as Pat, passed away peacefully at home with her four children and husband May 25, 2024.

Pat was born at the Riceville Hospital in Riceville Nov. 18, 1950 to Reuben Quam and Dorothy Quam (Schaffer). On Aug. 23, 1969, she married Douglas R. Smith. The couple had four children together.

Pat dedicated her whole life to being a wonderful homemaker and poured her heart and soul into her family. Her warm spirit and smile will never be forgotten. Her favorite times in life were raising her family and watching her children play ball. She was an incredible cook and made the best cookies ever. She really enjoyed her grandchildren and watching all of their activities. She was so proud of her children and grandchildren. She never wanted to miss out on any of their achievements. She was always there for them and will be missed by all. Patricia was the best wife, mother and grandmother and was loved so much by her family.

Survivors include her children, Treva (Jason) Waters, Jason (Melissa) Smith, Traci (Marc) Mahood and Tina (Matthew) Bollman as well as grandchildren Hannah (Trevor) Meyer, Hagen Waters, Max Smith, Carter Smith, Lilly Smith, Maya Douglas, Chance Duln, Marc David Mahood, Kelsy Dettbarn, Connor Alexander and Harry Bollman. 

She will be deeply missed by her husband, children and grandchildren.
