Owen Fredrick Nuehring
Owen Fredrick Nuehring, age 74, of Wells, MN and formerly of Postville, IA; died Monday, November 2, 2020 at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN from natural causes. A Public visitation will be Sunday, November 8, 2020 at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, MN from 1:00-3:00 PM. On Wednesday, November 11, 2020, there will be a funeral service at Zion Lutheran Church in Castalia, IA at 2:00 PM with visitation one hour before the service at the church. Owen Fredrick was born March 18, 1946 in Postville, IA, the son of Orville and Emily (Schultz) Nuehring. Owen worked for over 44 years at Wells Concrete, retiring several years ago. He loved to bowl and enjoyed watching Minnesota sports teams and sports of all kinds. He loved the sports channel on cable. December 10, 2020 would mark 39 years of sobriety for Owen.
Owen is survived by his siblings: Marranda (Dennis) Larson of Atkins, IA, Orville Nuehring of Monona, IA, Marilyn Martie of Waukon, IA, Marlene Yauslin of Elgin, IA, Margaret (Tom) Jones of Castalia, IA, Oliver (Francis) Nuehring of Chester, VA, Omar Nuehring of Monona, IA and Marcia Solem of Decorah, IA; 1 uncle: Marlin (Marge) Schrader of Monona, IA; 1 aunt: Verda Mae Nuehring of West Union, IA; along with many nieces, nephews and their families.
Owen is preceded in death by his parents; brother Otto (Charlotte) Nuehring; sisters Melvina (Ralph) Pearson, MaryAnn (Albert) Dundee; brothers-in-law: Richard Yauslin, Dusty Solem, Wayne Martie, David Colsch; sister-in-law, June Nuehring; nephews: Wayne Dundee and Ricky Pearson.
