Maureen Lien

Maureen Lien, 91, passed away Monday, Sept. 22, 2025, at Stanton Nursing Home in Stanton, Kentucky under the care of Hospice East.

She was born Feb. 7, 1934, to the late Karl and Minerva (Huebner) Walter in Gunder, Iowa. She was a member of First Christian church, was an accountant, loved sewing,doing appliques on teeshirts and sweatshirts, and was an avid Bridge player.

She is survived by her three children; Chuck (Becky) Lien, Brian (Tracy) Lien, and Julie (Mike) Menchen; 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Walter and several cousins.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings: Wayne Walter and Bill (Carolyn) Walter.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Alzheimers Association.

A memorial service will be planned at a later date, to be held in Decorah, Iowa.
