Luther H. (Luke) Larson

Luke was born April 25, 1944 in Postville, IA. He passed away April 15, 2024 in Puyallup, WA.

Preceded in death by his father Hilbert (Hib), mother Ruth and sister Solveig. Luke graduated from Postville High School with the Class of 1962 and attended Luther College.

He worked at the local lumber yard and Post Office before starting a career with HyGrade Food Products in Postville. When the plant closed, he was transferred to Tacoma, WA then Farmington Hills, MI when HyGrade was purchased by Sara Lee then Hilshire Farms.

Luke loved sports. In addition to umpiring high school sports for many years, he enjoyed playing softball, bowling and golf. He was a Green Bay Packers and Iowa Hawkeyes fan and most recently loved watching the Hawkeyes women basketball team.

Luke is survived by his four children; Tracy (Damian), Trent (Lisa), Cory and Erika (Mike), 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren and other extended family. Per his wishes there was no funeral or memorial service.
