Linda Lou Sebastian

Linda Lou Sebastian, 80 of Postville, Iowa passed away Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Ossian Senior Hospice in Ossian, Iowa. Linda Lou was born at home in rural Fayette County to Glenn and Marion (Erhardt} Kirkestue on February 28, 1943. She grew up on a farm in her early childhood and attended the Clermont Public School. In 1954 she moved to Postville and graduated from high school in 1961.

Linda worked at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, St Vincents Hospital in Billings, Montana and St Francis Hospital in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

She married Milo Sebastian on October 28, 1967. Linda worked for Kennith A. Miller D.O. in Postville. She was janitor at the Postville State Bank for 18 years and also did other small jobs. They owned and operated Sebastian Crane, Painting and Tree Service for many years. Linda worked side by side with Milo every day.

They traveled all over the country with their camper. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved to cook and bake (especially cookies} which the grandchildren loved. She liked watching game shows, Nascar races, shows using forensic science to solve crimes, listening to country music, working on family history and also camping with friends. Milo and Linda went on bus trips to Washington D.C. and to New York City.

She is survived by her husband, Milo, and their three children, Kelly Sebastian, Laurie (Brent} Thompson and John (Dawn) Sebastian; three grandchildren, Andrew and Alex Thompson and Maggie Sebastian; two sisters, Caroline Lansing and Betty Foels and a niece and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her step-father, Fay Wickham and brothers-in-law, Fred Lansing and Calvin Foels, a niece and nephew, Jennie and Jack Lansing.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Schutte-Grau Funeral Home in Postville, Iowa. There will also be a one hour visitation before services at the funeral home on Wednesday.

Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Schutte-Grau Funeral Home in Postville, Iowa with Pastor Karla Johnson as the officiant.

Burial will follow in the Postville Cemetery in Postville, Iowa.
