Laura B. Zidlicky

POSTVILLE — Laura B. Zidlicky, 103, of Postville and formerly of Morton, Ill. and Oelwein, died Saturday evening, Dec. 17, at Good Samaritan Society in Waukon.

A private family graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Oelwein, Iowa with Rev. Lynn Noel officiating. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Laura Bernice Kingsley was born Aug. 1, 1919, at Lime Springs, Iowa, the daughter of Oliver and Anna (Holmen) Kingsley. She graduated from Lime Springs High School in 1937. On Feb. 6, 1943, she was united in marriage to Paul H. Zidlicky at Lime Springs. For many years Laura and Paul owned and operated Delmar Locker Plant in Delmar. She was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church in Oelwein and Advent Lutheran Church in Morton, Ill. She was currently a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Postville. Laura enjoyed china and oil painting, antiques, playing dulcimer, playing cards, Daniel O’Donnell, homemaking, life in general and spending time with her family.

Laura is survived by her daughter: Jolynn Lottman of Dahinda, Ill.; daughter-in-law: Patricia Zidlicky of Postville; four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on July 9, 1998, her son, Paul Zidlicky, on April 2, 2000, two brothers and five sisters.
