Gene Arthur Schnuelle

Gene Arthur Schnuelle, 82 of Postville, Iowa passed away Monday, November 27, 2023 at Gundersen Palmer Hospital in West Union, Iowa. Gene was born July 13, 1941 to William and Lela (Harnack) Schnuelle in Postville, Iowa. He was baptized on August 30, 1941 in Monona, Iowa by Pastor H. W. Siefkes and confirmed on March 25, 1956 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville, Iowa by Pastor Charles E. Witt. Gene graduated from Postville High School in 1960 and proudly joined and served in the United States AirForce.

On March 27, 1993 Gene was united in marriage with Wanda Sue Green at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville, Iowa by Pastor Charles W. Miller. Two children were born to this union, Christopher Gene and Andrea. Gene owned and operated Schnuelle Electrical Company in Postville, Iowa. He spent time watching sports and was a fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes, Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings. Gene enjoyed tinkering, listening to country and western music and loved his cats and dogs. He was stubborn but was willing to help anyone.

Surviving Gene is his wife, Wanda Schnuelle of Postville, Iowa; his two children, Christopher “Chris” Schnuelle of Postville, Iowa and Andrea Schnuelle of Postville, Iowa; his siblings, Genevieve (special friend Larry) Milbrandt of Waucoma, Iowa, Georgia (Dale) Sowers of New Hope, Minnesota, Marge (Al) Spilde of New Hope, Minnesota and Jr. Schnuelle of Blair, Nebraska.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lela Schnuelle.

A Memorial Service with Military Rites will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at St. Paul Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall in Postville, Iowa with Rev. Lynn Noel as the Officiant.
