Dolores A. Hughes

Dolores A. Hughes, 89, of Frankville, Iowa died Thursday, December 17, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Society in Postville, Iowa. Dolores Arlene, the daughter of Lawrence and Olga (Livingood) Krambeer, was born February 19, 1931 in Postville, Iowa. She attended school in the Ludlow area. Dolores was united in marriage with Dickie Hughes on July 17, 1947 at the Waukon Presbyterian parsonage. To this union, seven children were born.

During her life, Dolores was an Avon Salesperson, she worked at the insulation plant in Postville, helped her husband drill wells, and babysat for several families in the area. Dolores joined the Frankville Presbyterian Church in 1945 and was very active with the church women, teaching Sunday School and Bible School. She was a member of the Frankville Fire Department and helped coach PeeWee wrestling with her husband, Dickie. Dolores loved gardening and flowers, crocheting, drawing pictures, and collecting knickknacks, dolls, and stuffed animals.

Dolores is survived by her children, Mark (Penny) Hughes of Lawrence, Kansas; Clifford Hughes of Frankville, Iowa; Teddy (Susan) Hughes of Postville, Iowa; Jerrine (Paul) Arney of Frankville, Iowa; Jeffrey Hughes of Rosebud, Texas; and Colleen (John) Finger of Frankville, Iowa; many grandchildren and honorary grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, six siblings, Tom (Darla) Krambeer of Lawrence, Kansas; Gordon(Mary) Krambeer of Hiawatha, Iowa; Ned Krambeer of Decorah, Iowa; Dennis Krambeer of Decorah, Iowa; Jerry (Janice) Krambeer of Decorah, Iowa; and Nona (Wayne) Stone of Lansing, Iowa; sister-in-law, Barb Hughes of Decorah, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Dickie; a son and his wife, Barry and Marsha Hughes; grandson Maxwell Hughes; great grandson, Shawn Hughes, Jr.; her parents; a sister and her husband, Shirley and Homer Everet, two brothers and their wives, Ronald and Carol Krambeer and Lawrence and Carolyn Krambeer, Jr.; her brother-in-law, David Hughes; and two sisters in law, Peg and Margaret Krambeer.

There will be a Public Graveside Funeral Service at 10:00 am on Monday, December 21, 2020 at the Frankville Cemetery in Frankville, Iowa with Pastor Karla Johnson as the officiant. A Visitation will be held from 9-10:00 am before services at the cemetery on Monday.

Due to Covid-19 masks and social distancing are recommended. Feel free to bring a lawn chair for the service.
