Dean Orville Peterson

West Union – Dean Orville Peterson of West Union, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Gundersen Hospital in LaCrosse, WI. He was born November 11, 1947, in Iowa, to Orville and Helen (Kuhse) Peterson. Dean attended school through the eighth grade.

Dean was united in marriage to Nina Nelson. Three children were born to this union, Elizabeth, Bradley and Patrick. The couple later divorced. He married Eva Gordon, and she preceded him in death.

He grew up on a dairy farm - later he worked for Keifer, making life stock trailers, worked as a dairy farmer and at MPC. Dean enjoyed watching tractor pulls, roller skating, dancing and going to fairs.

Survivors includes his children, Elizabeth Peterson, Decorah, Bradley (Erica) Peterson, Marion, and Patrick (Dana) Peterson, Marion; grandchildren, Finn Peterson, Katrina Peterson and Evelyn Peterson; two great-grandchildren; nephew, Steve Schuety; five great nephews and two great nieces.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents; wife Eva; his sister Ardis Schuety; brother-in-law William Schuety and nephews, Vernon Schuety and Robert Schuety.

Visitation: 12:30 to 2:30 on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Norway Lutheran Church, rural St. Olaf

Funeral Service: 2:30 PM, September 3, 2024, at Norway Lutheran Church, rural St. Olaf with Rev. Marshall Hahn, officiating.

Interment: Norway Lutheran Cemetery, rural St. Olaf
