Postville, The Hometown To The World. Some of us live here. Some of us work here. Some of us just come here to play. No matter what it is that brings you to this special place, I am sure we can all agree that there is something you love about it. Not many small towns can say they connect four counties, intersect two U.S. Routes, and a State Highway. There are also not many small towns that can brag of the diverse businesses that serve its community. It is a town like Postville that makes it possible to sip a caramel latte along with a fresh baked muffin for breakfast, indulge in some authentic fajitas for lunch and then still find yourself a kosher falafel for dinner. In Postville you can find all of that in one small street. We have a variety of small markets that offer a number of cultural specialties, industries, and businesses that keep our community employed and community members who make this town so unrepeatable.

I know I could go on about all the wonderful things our town has to offer but I want to pass it on to all of you reading this. I am inviting YOU, the valuable voices of the community, to share with others what you love about Postville. March 1st marked the launch day of an exciting social media challenge that not only invites our community members to share their thoughts but gives them an opportunity to win gift certificates to many of those wonderful local businesses I was talking about.  When you add Our Postville Community Heart & Soul on Facebook @ourpostvilleCHS or Instagram @Ourpostville, you will have completed the first step in the challenge. This month we want you to show us what you love most about Postville. Create a post and make sure to tag us by adding the hashtag #OURPOSTVILLE. Every time you create a post and share it with our hashtag, you will be entered into the challenge. We welcome you to share as many posts as you would like. Each different post is an entry into the challenge.  In March a winner will be drawn on both the 15th and the 30th. That is right my friends, there will be two winners this month!

The fun is not going to stop there, March is only the beginning. In an effort to engage our community, there will be FIVE months of social media challenges and each month there will be a new challenge. If you have a business and you want to hang a poster to encourage posts to be made about you this month, send me an email, and I would be happy to either email a copy or drop off a printed one. Our Postville Community Heart & Soul is about encouraging ALL the voices of the whole community to take part in finding our shared love for Postville. It is intended to give every voice the opportunity to take part in sharing what they hope for the future of our town. We encourage posts in every language!  We want to make sure all voices are heard, and everyone has the opportunity to get involved. The time is now, go out there, and start sharing your voice. We are listening and we can not wait to see what you all love about Postville.
