Caucus Night coming for Allamakee County

Area residents will have a role in selecting the presidential ballot as Caucus Night rapidly approaches.

Republicans will gather Jan. 15, at 7 p.m. at locations throughout the county.

For Postville, the GOP Caucus site is Turner Hall, 119 E. Green St.

Across the county, Lansing’s Driftless Area Education and Visitor Center, the Waukon High School Auditorium and the New Albin Townhouse are also sites.

Likewise, for Democrats a caucus event is set that night at the same time at the Wellness Center Senior Room in Waukon, in Harpers Ferry in the Community Center’s Council Room, at the Lansing Public Library and at the New Albin Community Center.

This year, presidential preference for Democrats will not take place at that time but by mail.

The deadline for requesting a card to mark that preference is Feb. 19 with cards being mail out beginning Jan. 12.
