Arvin G. Koopman
DALTON, Wisconsin - Arvin G. Koopman, 84 of Dalton, Wisconsin, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2024 at Marshfield Medical Center – Beaver Dam, Wisconsin.
Visitation for Arvin will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2024 at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Gary Zacharias officiating. Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in Kingston.
Arvin was born in Iowa on October 29, 1940, the son of Gerhardt and Ellen (Kramber) Koopman. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, being honorably discharged after serving four years. On Sept. 16, 1962, he was united in marriage to Judith Mae Schnuelle in Castalia, Iowa. He owned and operated Pro-Type Buildings since 1973, building many steel buildings in the area. Arvin enjoyed watching old western movies. He also liked sports; he was an avid Packers fan and never missed a Milwaukee Brewers game. Most of all, he loved his family and especially enjoyed talking about his grandchildren.
Arvin is survived by his wife, Judy Koopman; children, Bart (Dawn) Koopman, Douglas Koopman, and Kim (Jim Schade) Koopman; grandchildren, Alex (Jamie) Koopman, Andrew Koopman, Aaron (Jamie) Koopman, Brianna (Tyrese) Pinson, Kendra (Luke Figol) Meier, Bowen Meier, and Katelyn Meier; great-grandchildren, Baylor and Charli; sister, Cora Hansen; and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Grant Koopman; siblings, Louis, Lois, Jim, Dixie, Geraldine, and Dean; brothers-in-law, Ed, Raymond, Donald, Allan, and Clinton Schnuelle; and other relatives.
