Two compete to be Allamakee County Dairy Princess

Two candidates will be competing for the title of Allamakee County Dairy Princess at the Allamakee County Dairy Banquet on March 22. 

Kiele Eberling is the 18-year-old daughter of Kevin and Donna Eberling of Postville. She is currently a senior at Decorah High School. Eberling and her family live on a dairy farm outside of Postville, where they milk around 50 Brown Swiss cows. Eberling is involved in FFA, 4-H, Colorguard, Winterguard, Band, and Cheer. She was also the 2024-2025 Iowa Brown Swiss Princess. In FFA, she participates in multiple contests, including Dairy Judging (she was tenth place in the state) Floriculture, Ag Broadcasting (alternate to state)  Ag Communications (ninth place in the state) as well as receiving her Iowa Degree last year. She enjoys playing guitar, showing cattle, reading, and going to concerts. After graduating, Eberling will attend NICC to finish her transfer degree in Agricultural Education and then transfer to Iowa State to major in Animal Science and minor in Agricultural Education. Eberling is sponsored by the Postville Veterinary Clinic.

Kendra Gibbs is the 17-year-old daughter of Chris and Kerri Gibbs, and is currently a junior at Waukon High School. She is involved in 4-H, FFA, the National Honor Society, and Luther League. Through FFA, she is currently serving as the 2024-2025 Little Switzerland FFA Chapter Secretary. She also competes in various contests including the Agronomy, Milk Quality and Products, and the Ag Biotechnology career development events. She is also a member of the 4-H Toppers club and is serving as the 2024-2025 club vice president. Gibbs is a very active member on her family’s dairy farm, Gibbs Dairy. On the farm, she oversees and manages the day-to-day operations of their calf facilities and assists in various other aspects, including providing care to sick cows and helping in their artificial insemination breeding program. When Gibbs is not busy doing any of the prior, you can find her spending time with friends and family, going on road trips, camping, or kayaking. After graduation, she is planning to attend South Dakota State University to major in dairy production with a minor in agronomy. Kendra’s sponsor is Driven Embryo Services.

The coronation of the 2025 Allamakee County Dairy Princess will take place at the annual Allamakee County Dairy Banquet on Saturday, March 22. Food will start at 7 p.m. and the program will start at 8 p.m. In addition to the coronation of the Princess, production and recognition awards will be presented to individuals who work in the dairy industry in Allamakee County.
