Postville Fire Department receives donation for new radios

Postville Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. recently received a donation to upgrade its radio equipment.

The Arlin Falck Foundation made a $7,000 donation towards the purchase of two new portable radios, which cost $4,195.20 each, for inter-county emergency communications.

Some counties are changing radio frequencies, which makes it difficult for fire departments, emergency management services (EMS), and police departments to communicate efficiently, especially since Postville is on the border of four counties. Specifically, Fayette and Clayton counties have adopted new radio frequencies, so the new radios will be vital for mutual aid responses.

The Postville Volunteer Fire Dept., Inc., on behalf of the Frontier Fire Company, wishes to thank the Arlin Falck Foundation for assisting them on this project. They also wish to thank the entire community for its support as well.
