Phyllis Ann Bork
Phyllis Ann Bork, 78, of Postville, Iowa died on Friday, June, 28, 2024 at her home in Postville, Iowa surrounded by her family. Phyllis Ann was born on October 21, 1945 in Preston, Minnesota to Harvey and Olga (Barber) Bugenhagen.
On November 6, 1965, Phyllis was united in marriage with Ronnie Lyngaas at Fremont Lutheran Church in Cresco, Iowa. Together they adopted one child, Lonnie Lyngaas. Ronnie passed away on February 25, 1977. Phyllis found love again and remarried on June 17, 1978 to Robert (Bob) Bork at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville, Iowa together they had a daughter Jodi (Koch) Bork.
Throughout the years Phyllis enjoyed activities such as bowling and was on a Monday night league for several years as well as a Sunday night family league with her husband Bob and kids Lonnie and Jodi, Phyllis was excellent at crocheting and for years would sell her work at the Millstone Emporium in Postville, IA. She was a master at crossword puzzles and would secretly do them for her kids’ friends when given as high school assignments, they all got 100%. Phyllis fiercely loved her children and grandchildren. She was a known home body and nothing made her happier than just hanging out spending time with her family and friends.
Phyllis is survived by her children, Lonnie Lyngaas of Marion, Iowa and Jodi (Ryan) Koch of Clarence, Iowa; Step-son James Bork of Postville, Iowa; Siblings, Karen Rollie of Wykoff, Minnesota, Rick (Marilee) Bugenhagen of Cresco, Iowa, Steve Bugenhagen of Asheville, North Carolina, and Debbie Roske of DeForest, Wisconsin; six grandchildren, Conner Koch, Rylee Koch, Kaitlin Koch, Brandon Bork, Dylan Bork, and Taneasha Gingerich; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents Harvey and Olga Bugenhagen; husbands Ronnie Lyngaas and Robert Bork; step-son Richard Bork; siblings, Janet Benson, Dean Bugenhagen and Annette Bugenhagen and niece, Carol Hovden.
The family would like to thank St. Croix Hospice of Strawberry Point, Iowa. With special thanks to nurses Becca and Melissa.
A Visitation will be held from 10:30 am until 12:30 pm with a Memorial Service at 12:30 pm on Monday, July 8, 2024 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Postville, Iowa with Rev. Lynn Noel as the officiant
A private inurnment will be held at a later date at Postville Cemetery, Postville, IA.
