COVID-19 cases continue to increase in NE Iowa

Currently,  there have been  155  confirmed cases of COVID-19  in Allamakee County. The State of Iowa reported no new cases on Monday, with six tests results being reported during the same timeframe. No new deaths have been reported in the county. The county reported five new cases for the past seven days.

Clayton County topped an inevitable milestone during its slowest week of positive COVID-19 tests in nearly a month. 

According to the Iowa Department of Public Health, six Clayton County residents had positive tests last week, bringing the county’s total during the pandemic to 104. It is one of 62 of Iowa’s 99 counties to have had at least 100 positive tests. 

Winneshiek was the only northeast Iowa county with a significant uptick in COVID-19 cases last week, with its residents recording 16 positive tests, the most since the pandemic began. Winneshiek County has had a total of 97 positive tests for the disease and currently has 36 active cases of the virus. Fayette County had only two new cases.

Nearby Dubuque County, has a total of 1,679 people having tested positive and 620 cases remain active, a drop of more than 150 from the week before.
