Wrestlers will be led by returning state qualifier; Coach Mueller pleased with early progress

Wrestling coach Bryan Mueller, along with assistant Tim Rupard and volunteer Bobby Schultz have been leading the wrestling program for five years. They are anxious to get the season underway.

The team has two returning letter winners in Uvaldo Camarillo and Roberto Lopez. Head Coach Mueller added, “However, we have other returners who have wrestled in the past including Isaac Steffans, Arnoldo Lopez, Tony Vazquez, and Wilmer Soy.”

Tuesday night the Pirates were slated to travel to Oelwein to wrestle Oelwein, Nashua-Plainfield and Waukon. Mueller explained, “We will see all three of these schools again sometime throughout the season, so winning matches the first time will be big. Nashua-Plainfield is in our district this year so we could have some possible big matches to start the season off. As a team, we are excited to get the season going.”
