Volleyball team hosts Kee High and plays in Riceville tournament

Last Tuesday the Pirate volleyball team hosted Kee High in the Pirate gym. After losing the first set 18-25, the girls came back and won the second set 25-21. The third set went to the Hawks 16-25 with the final set going down to the wire. The Pirates would eventually lose the set 23-25 and would fall in the match three games to one.

Coach Daryl Schultz said, “I thought we had a shot at the fourth set but one bad bounce did us in. We played very hard and I was proud of our team for fighting until the end.”

As a team the girls did well serving as they had ten ace serves. Those with two aces were Loera, Mohs, Mucia and Smith. Also serving an ace were Bacon and Vega.

The Pirates host South Win this Thursday, Oct. 17 for Parents’ Night.
