Terrie Allen shares chalk art to brighten the days of many

Terrie Allen began drawing chalk art on her sidewalk several weeks ago and has continued every day the weather cooperates. She gets her inspiration from the internet, friends and events that are taking place.

Terrie Allen, a retired postmaster, has spent the last several years teaching yoga while enjoying the great outdoors in a wide-variety of activities. Most recently Allen has been doing chalk art on the sidewalks outside the house on East Greene street where she and her husband, Doyle, have lived for several decades.

Asked how she got started sharing chalk on the walk, Terrie said, “Last year I used sidewalk chalk for some of the kids’ yoga classes I taught. This year, during the stay at home, we have been sending videos to our grandkids. One sunny Sunday we got out the chalk and started to draw. I have continued on since that day.”

Asked if drawing is something she has always enjoyed, she said, “I used to draw when I was in elementary school, but not since then. This has been a big surprise! I never imagined so many people would look forward to seeing my drawings on Facebook.”
