Six veterans receive Quilts of Valor at Veterans Day Program, Postville

Six veterans received Quilts of Valor at the Veterans Day Program Monday which was held at Postville Community Schools. Making the presentations were members of the Quilters for Veterans group. Receiving quilts were (left to right) Randy Martie, who was an E4 in the Navy from 1979-1983; Jeff Carr, who was in the Navy from 1967-1970 and did two tours of duty in Vietnam; Larry Schultz, was an E-4 in the Army from 1971-73; Sergeant Major David Ruckdaschel, who served in the Army and National Guard  for 20 years, and was the speaker at the Veterans Day Program; Darrell Henning, who was  an E5 Sergeant in the Army reserves and National Guard from 1970-78 and Lyle Guese, who was an E5 in the Army from 1969-1971. Quilters pictured (left to right) are Betty Foels, Cindy Berns, Kathy Linderbaum, Sandy Koenig, Jane Blumhagen, Barb Duwe-Peterson, Rita Anderson, Linda Hughes, Barb Guese and Barb Gericke.
