Pirates win their own soccer tournament as they go 3-0 on the day

The Postville Pirate soccer team hosted a tournament on the home field Saturday and, after winning all three of their games, the Pirates were named tournament champions.

Waterloo East

In the first match up, the Pirates played Waterloo East and were able to score one goal in each half to get the 2-0 win.

Anamosa

The Pirates dominated Anamosa as they won 9-0. Olsen said, “Our passing and moving the ball made us look like a veteran team in this game.”

Charles City

A third victory came against Charles City as Postville shut them out, 6-0. Postville was up 1-0 at the half but were not playing as well as they were capable.

Upcoming games are scheduled for April 9 at Decorah and April 16 vs. Marquette Catholic beginning at 4:30 p.m. at Postville.
