Dunkerton

The Pirates traveled to Dunkerton where they had a poor start and played catch-up all night. Dunkerton scored 23 points in the first quarter and led 45 to 26 at the half. The Pirates played much better in the second half but fell by ten as the final score was 62-72.

Central

The Pirates hosted Elkader Central Tuesday night where they got out to a nice start and were leading 22-7 at the end of the first quarter and 33-17 at the half. They would come away with the 57-46 win.

The Coach said, “The game started out pretty well as we forced a lot of turnovers and got out in transition. We also made some outside shots which opened everything up. We got the ball down the court and attacked the rim nicely. We shot the ball well from the outside and I thought we defended pretty well.”

North Fayette Valley

Friday night the Pirates traveled to West Union to play the North Fayette Valley Tiger Hawks. A good first quarter would give the Pirates a 30-26 half time lead. They would hold on for the 55-49 victory.

Three Pirates were in double figures as Dehning had 14, Wettleson and Jacobson had eleven each. Bacon had nine, Loera had eight and Nick Jacobs two. Dehning had two shots from downtown as did Loera. Bacon added a three pointer as well. Jacobson had four assists and  Dehning had three.

Lyle-Pacelli

Saturday the boys played in the Border Battle against Lyle-Pacelli and came away with the win. The Pirates fought hard the entire game and came away with the 62-60 win.
