Pirates fall to Dunkerton in second round of tournament action as the season comes to a close

The boys traveled to Dunkerton for the second round of tournament action last Tuesday evening and after falling behind, 21-10 after the first quarter, they were never able to overcome the deficit and fell to the ranked opponent by a score of 63-44.

Coach Mike Sass said, “The game did not start out well at all for us. We started slow and didn’t move the ball very well on defense and turnovers were a bit of a problem.”

Three Pirates were in double figures as Jacobson had 16, Dehning 13 and Wettleson 11 points. Wettleson had three assists while Jacobson, Dehning and Steffans had two each. Dehning connected on three shots from beyond the arc as he had the only three pointers on the night.
