MFL MarMac

Last Tuesday night the Pirates hosted their longtime rival, MFL Mar Mac in a game that went down to the wire. The Pirates got off to an early lead, but the Bulldogs continued to claw back and when the final gun sounded, the home team held on for the 60-58 win.

Coach Mike Sass said, “The game started out very well for us. We got off to a quick start offensively and built up a small lead which we were able to maintain throughout the game.”

Hudson

Saturday the team traveled to Upper Iowa where they played Hudson in a shoot-out. Holding a one point lead at halftime, 23-22, the Pirates were only able to put one point on the scoreboard in the third quarter and would eventually fall 54-37.

Wettleson had 16 points and Dehning had ten as they were the only Pirates in double figures. Jacobson had seven points and Steffans had one three point bucket from downtown as the nearly scoreless third quarter was the difference in the game.
