Pirates are dominated by Ed-Co during action Friday night as they open district play

The Pirates began district play Friday night against a much-improved Ed-Co team. Although the Pirates played the Vikings into double overtime one year ago, this year the momentum was all in the favor of the home team Vikings. With Jacob Steffans recovering from an injury, the quarterback duties would be shared by Steffans and Harrison Dehning.

As the Vikings took control early in the game, the clock would run continuously for much of the second half. Unable to get on the scoreboard, the Pirates would eventually fall 0-48.

Postville began the game on offense, and after moving the ball to the 43 yard line, they handed the ball over on downs.

Ed-Co scored on their first possession on a 15 yard run and would lead 7-0 after a successful point after.

This week the Pirates host Starmont as they celebrate Homecoming. Kick-off is at 7 p.m.
