New telepharmacy to open this May on North Lawler Street in downtown Postville

The community of Postville is excited to add a new service to the business community this spring as Pharmacist Linda Nightingale is opening a telepharmacy on North Lawler Street in downtown Postville. She explained, “I have followed the progress  of this new type of pharmacy (telepharmacy) for quite some time, and was very interested in watching the pilot program of the first three telepharmacies in Iowa. Those entities began nearly six years ago and have done very well. Telepharmacies have been successful in over half the states in the country for several years and I am happy to bring this new concept to Postville.”

The Postville telepharmacy will have one certified pharmacy tech and one support person on staff. Linda noted, “We would like to hire one more pharmacy tech.” The telepharmacy will be managed by the Guttenberg Pharmacy and the pharmacist in charge will be Chad Vaske, who manages the Guttenberg Pharmacy.

The Prescription Shoppe in Postville, Nightingale said, will accept most insurance plans. She said, “Applying for insurance contracts is a long, involved process, but we hope to have most plans in place when we open between the first and the middle of May.”
