Girls fall to Waukon and MFL MarMac as coach is pleased with improvement from game to game

Waukon

The girls opened the volleyball season against non-conference foe Waukon as they fell in three sets by scores of 9-25, 10-25 and 14-25.

Following the match, Coach Angela Adney said, “ The girls started off every game strong but were defeated by Waukon’s strong offense. I believe as the girls build confidence in their abilities, we will start to see more energy, movement, and aggression on the court!”

MFL MarMac

Thursday night the girls faced off against the Bulldogs of MFL MarMac. They lost in three by scores of 12-25, 18-25 and 12-25.

The team, much improved in the kill department, combined for six. Bodley had two as did Valentine and Vega.

After the match-up with the Bulldogs, Coach Adney said, “Even though we didn’t come out on top, I am so proud of how the girls played tonight."

This week the girls travel to North Fayette Valley on Thursday night and host South Winneshiek on their home court Thursday, September 7.
