Girls fall to North Fayette Valley and Central in first games of season

The girls opened the softball season Monday, June 15 against North Fayette Valley. Both games were called after three innings as the scores were 12-0 and 15-3. 

After the game, Coach Betsy Shea said, “The girls practiced hard for the first two weeks of the season and we felt like we were improving day by day. We had a lot of first-game jitters that showed in our play.” 

at Central 

On Wednesday, June 17, the girls traveled to Elkader where they faced Central in a double header. 

In game one the girls were unable to get on the scoreboard. But, pitcher Sierra Mohs did a nice job on the mound. The Warriors scored two in the first, five in the second and two each in the fourth and fifth innings.
