Girls fall to Clayton Ridge and Starmont as they resume action after winter break

The Lady Pirates resumed action after the holiday break with games against Clayton Ridge and Starmont. As they continue to work on their skills, they were unable to put a complete game together and fell to both opponents.

Clayton Ridge

The Lady Pirates were back on the court January 9 after the holiday break, and finding it hard to get back in the groove, they would eventually fall 23-39 to Clayton Ridge.

Starmont

Friday night the girls traveled to Starmont and were able to get off to a strong start as they created turnovers. They would, however, come up short as they lost 20-25.

In spite of the loss, the coach was pleased saying, “We played our best defense of the season. We were forcing turnovers and we had the upper hand on the fouls until late in the game. It was late fouls that put the game in jeopardy.”

This week the girls were slated to host MFL MarMac Tuesday night and will travel to West Central on January 23.
