Girls compete at Tripoli as well as in the UIC Meet at Ed-Co; Leiran is main point scorer for team

The Lady Pirates competed at track meets in Tripoli and Ed-Co last week as the Ed-Co meet was the Upper Iowa Conference competition.

Coach Brad Rose said, “We came out of both meets with some positive performances.  Every girl or relay team came out of the week with distinct personal bests.  Our 4x100 and 4x400 times are getting competitive and the girls continue to run better and improve their times each time we run it.  Based on this weeks results, they are ahead of where we were last year. Miyu Kurakake had a great jump in the long jump that was a foot over her personal best.  Laura Roman and Taylor Rankin also continue to bring their times down in their individual races. Kaitlen Leiran continues to be our main point scorer for us in meets.”

Team and Individual results can be found in the May 10 edition of the Postville Herald.
