Free radon tests still available at Northeast Iowa RC & D

RC & D began handing out  free radon and lead testing kits to Postville residents earlier this year. Although they have given away 172 kits to date, they still have approximately half of the kits left to be distributed.

Testing for Radon, can save lives. David and Vivian Benjegerdes, who live on East Greene Street, found high levels of radon in their home after completing the testing program. After the family installed a mitigation system, the radon levels went down to an acceptable level.

Postville area residents may pick up a free kit at 101 East Greene Street from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
