Former Postvillian Lucas Winter serves on Chicago Fire Department

Lucas Winter, who spent his formative years in Postville, has recently been sworn in as a member of the Chicago Fire Department.

The son of Ron and Barb Winter and Dianne and Rick Bushman, Lucas attended Cora B. Darling School throughout elementary school while his mom, Dianne owned and operated the Pirates Den Restaurant and Lounge on Greene Street.

Although Lucas completed his education in Seneca (Illinois) Township High School in May of 2001, both he and his sister, Tonya have continued to have strong ties to Northeast Iowa.

Winter concluded by saying, “Working in the City of Chicago as a firefighter is an achievement I am  very proud of. But, when not busy working, I enjoy getting back to Iowa to watch Hawkeye games. I have close ties to many of my college friends who also live in the Chicago area. Spending time with our family keeps my wife and I very busy, but we are grateful for a wonderful network of family support.”

Proud to honor a Postville hometown hero, congrats to Lucas Winter as he serves the City of Chicago.
