Council discusses RAGBRAI passing through Postville as Town Hall Meeting set for April 25

The Postville City Council, meeting in regular session April 10, discussed the fact that RAGBRAI will be passing through Postville July 28. Corey Snitker, Allamakee County Emergency management Coordinator, gave the Council an update on the county’s efforts concerning RAGBRAI. He spoke about public safety plans, identifying county assets, shelter information and identifying hazards. The plan is to be completed June 1.

City Clerk Darcy Radloff and Police Chief Mike Halse will attend the RAGBRAI Pass-Through meeting in Clear Lake and a Town Hall Meeting will be held at Postville City Hall April 25 at 6 p.m. Vendor fees were also established. Potential vendors and anyone interested in getting involved with the RAGBRAI event is encouraged to attend the Town Hall meeting.

Complaints were reviewed on two individual residences. City attorney Anne Loomis will begin processing the matter.

Mayor Leigh Rekow signed a proclamation declaring April 11 through May 13 to be Spring Clean-Up Month. All citizens are encouraged to get involved in helping keep the community clean.
