City Council hears health insurance renewal costs and changes effective January 2018

The floor of the wastewater treatment was completed recently. It contains 860 yards of cement, triple rods and is 26 inches deep.

The Postville City Council, meeting in regular session November 13, heard from insurance agent Andy Moore concerning the annual health benefit renewals. The rates will increase approximately 12% effective Jan. 1, 2018.

Modifications to the lawn mowing ordinance were presented. The ordinance specifies weed and grass regulations. A second reading on the proposed changes will be held December 11.

Wastewater Treatment Plant update

Wapasha Construction poured the 26” thick floor to the new wastewater treatment process tank November 2. Over 850 yards of concrete was hauled in by Croell Redi-Mix, and pumped into place by American Concrete Pump using two trucks. The floor will be allowed to cure, and weather permitting, the walls to the tank will be formed and poured yet this Fall.
