City Council addresses several water leak situations, hears information on Remote Warning Device Activation

The regular meeting of the Postville City Council  opened with Librarian Cindy Berns inviting the Council and Mayor to the Library’s Open House on April 10. The open house was held in conjunction with National Library Week.

Mayor Rekow issued a proclamation citing April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month. As part of the proclamation, all citizens are urged to learn more about preventing sexual violence in our community.

Mayor Rekow also issued a proclamation stating that Postville Spring Clean Up will be designated from now until May 11, 2019. Residents are encouraged  to get involved in keeping our community clean.

Although members of the Fire Department had submitted names to City as to newly elected officers, Mayor Rekow declined swearing in any officers of the department. He said, “No appointments will be made until the fraud audit of the department is complete.”

The next regular meeting of the City Council will be held May 13 at 7 p.m.
