Camarillo goes 1-2 at State Wrestling Tournament as he finishes the year 42-2

Uvaldo Camarillo, the Pirate’s 113 pound wrestler competed in the state wrestling tournament Thursday and Friday. He lost his first match to Nathan Phillips of Interstate 35 by a score of 6-3. He came back in his next match and pinned Dillon Lynott of West Sioux in 5:12. In the consolation round he was pinned by Jacob Ragsdale of Dike New Hartford in 1:49.With his second loss, Camarillo was eliminated from the tournament.

With the win, he survived the first day. Day two he wrestled Ragsdale of Dike New Hartford. Camarillo came out and shot a nice high move. While he was taking Ragsdale down, Ragsdale went for a big move and rolled Camarillo. Although he was able to fight it off for a while, he ended up getting pinned. 

The fan and student support, they also noted, was great. Schultz said, “Postville had a good crowd which was great to see.”
